+ News :: Queensland Glass Wins Indooroopilly Shopping Centre Re-Development

The $300 million redevelopment of the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre is a major extension and refurbishment currently being undertaken by Brookfield Multiplex on behalf of ARIA and Eureka Funds Management.

It marks the largest

retail investment in Queensland in the last 10 years and is the result of several years of planning and consultation with Brisbane City Council, various State Government agencies and high-profile retailers.

It comprises more than 30,000 square metres of new floor area as well as a new six level car-park and a street level expansion of the external restaurant precinct, integrating it with the existing food court area.

The works will include a new 14,200 square metre David Jones department store, a newly fitted-out Myer department store on a reconfigured two level footprint, a new supermarket, and a fresh food hall.

In addition to this, Brookfield Multiplex is also undertaking significant upgrades to external facades, new circulation ramps, loading docks, upgrades to connecting roadways and intersections around the centre as well as a facelift for existing retail precincts within Indooroopilly Shopping Centre.

When complete in 2014, Indooroopilly Shopping Centre will comprise115,000 square metres of retail space and will house around 340 specialty retailers. It will create 1,500 new jobs (during the construction phase) and around 1,200 permanent, part-time and casual positions upon completion.
